Commercial RO Plant | 500 LPH

A complete 500 LPH (12,000 LPD) industrial reverse osmosis water treatment plant — the serious commercial scale, with the full process train of multi-media filtration, softening, and RO membrane processing in an all-stainless-steel chassis. Configured for industrial drinking water, manufacturing process water, food and beverage production, and any application demanding sustained high-volume RO output.

Industrial Scale, Not Commercial

This system is roughly 4× the production rate of the 800 GPD commercial units and 20× the residential RO scale. At 500 LPH (12,000 LPD), one unit can supply:

• A small industrial bottling line
• A mid-size food production facility's process water
• A multi-building commercial complex's drinking-water needs
• A medium-size hotel or hospitality facility
• Industrial cooling or rinse-water systems

For anything beyond residential RO and small-commercial drinking-water installations, this is the appropriate system scale.

The Complete Process Train

Unlike the simpler 400-800 GPD commercial RO units which rely on cartridge pre-treatment, this system includes the full water treatment train as a single integrated assembly:

1. Raw water pump — provides pressure to the quartz sand filter and activated carbon filter
2. Quartz sand (multi-media) filter — removes turbidity, suspended solids, organics, colloids
3. Activated carbon filter — removes colour, free chlorine, organics, harmful substances
4. Water softener — ion-exchange softening, replaces calcium and magnesium "hardness" ions
5. Safety (micron) filter — 5 µm cartridge filter to prevent large particles from reaching the RO membrane
6. High-pressure pump — provides operating pressure to the RO membrane
7. Reverse osmosis system — main treatment stage, 99% desalination rate, removes more than 99% of dissolved ions
8. Pure water storage tank — not included, sized separately to demand

Why the Full Process Train Matters at Scale

A cartridge-based commercial RO works fine at 400-800 GPD because cartridge replacement is manageable maintenance. At 500 LPH, cartridge-only pre-treatment would require replacement every 1-2 weeks — operationally untenable.

The multi-media sand filter, activated carbon, and softener are backwash-regenerable rather than disposable. They process tens of thousands of litres before requiring backwash, hundreds of thousands before media replacement. This is the standard format for industrial-scale RO pre-treatment.
