A 2-stage 10" × 4.5" short Big Blue whole-house filter combining sediment and carbon treatment in a single mounting frame — the configuration that handles the two contaminant categories that matter most for whole-house quality without requiring the full vertical space of a 20" Big Blue installation.
Two-Stage Configuration
- Stage 1 — Sediment cartridge: removes silt, dirt, sand, rust, and visible particulate from the incoming water. Protects the carbon stage and downstream appliances.
- Stage 2 — Carbon block cartridge: removes chlorine, taste, odour, and organic chemical contaminants. Stage 1 sediment filtering keeps Stage 2 carbon working at its rated lifespan rather than fouling early on sediment loads.
Both cartridges 10" × 4.5" short Big Blue format. The arrangement gets you full Big Blue flow capacity at every tap while staying within the smaller installation footprint that suits compact mechanical rooms or under-house spaces.
