A pack of 30 × 1/4" locking clips — small horseshoe-shaped clamps that clip over the push-fit collet on quick-connect fittings, preventing accidental release. The cheapest insurance you can buy against the leading cause of under-sink water damage.
Why Locking Clips Matter
Push-fit fittings work brilliantly — until something pushes against the collet by accident. The collet is the small ring around the tube that you press inward to release the fitting. Anything that pushes it inward releases the tube — and at full mains pressure, that's a sudden uncontrolled water release into your cabinet.
The most common culprits:
- Cleaning supplies stored against the fitting in an under-sink cabinet
- Storage bins or boxes that shift over time and contact the fitting
- Vibration from a garbage disposal or dishwasher transmitting into the cabinet
- Accidental nudging during cleaning or storage rearrangement
A locking clip snaps over the collet, mechanically preventing it from being pressed inward. The fitting can no longer release the tube under any normal circumstance.

A complete residential RO system typically has 8-15 push-fit fittings across the install:

Installation
After the push-fit fitting is connected and tested:
- Slip the locking clip over the tube
- Snap it onto the collet flange of the fitting
- Confirm the clip is fully seated
To remove the clip (when servicing): squeeze the legs of the clip and slide it back off the tube.
